Nikki Walton Named a Principal at Maher Duessel

Maher Duessel is pleased to announce that Nikki L. Walton, CPA has been named a Principal of the firm, effective July 1, 2026. Ms. Walton began her public accounting career in 2009 and joined Maher Duessel in 2016. She received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Toledo. Ms. Walton directs audit engagements for various governmental entities including intermediate units, municipal authorities, and municipalities. She also leads audit/tax engagements for several non-profit entities including health and human service agencies, arts and humanities organizations, and foundations. Ms. Walton has comprehensive experience with Single Audits. She serves as Director of Education at Maher Duessel, overseeing the planning and execution of the firm’s internal and external CPE seminars, and she has presented on governmental and non-profit accounting and auditing topics such as Fraud and Internal Controls, SAS 143 and 145, and Leases.  Ms. Walton is a member of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania Women United.
