What advice would you give to someone joining Maher Duessel fresh out of college?
New employees should get involved in committees. It’s a great way to get to know people and have a voice in the firm. Maher Duessel is propelled forward by committee work and fresh voices.

My favorite Maher Duessel Fun Committee activity/memory is?
Snow Tubing at Ski RoundTop. I was really bad at it.

When I am not crunching numbers I am….

Lisa began her public accounting career in 1987 and joined Maher Duessel in 2009. Her clients include non-profit and governmental organizations throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and State of Maryland. Lisa serves as Partner on audit engagements with local governments and non-profits including state entities, human service agencies, associations, and community colleges, and she has extensive knowledge in Single Audit compliance. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Information Technology Professional and has received the AICPA’s SOC for Cybersecurity certificate. Lisa directs the firm’s IT audit practice. She also serves as Director of Quality Control for the firm. As Director of Quality Control, Lisa is responsible for the oversight of the firm’s procedures and processes in ensuring the highest levels of service to our clients. This includes assisting in guiding firm-wide implementation of all new accounting and audit standards, providing technical expertise on Financial Statement Audit, Single Audit, Employee Benefit Plan Audit reporting issues and tax compliance when needed, monitoring the firm’s compliance with professional standards, leading annual internal quality control inspections, and coordinating our external peer review conducted by an outside CPA firm.
